2018 in Colour.
Something I really like about myself is that I have a tendency of associating colours to everything. This is just something I’ve always done as a kid. I never really paid much attention to it, primarily because i thought it was normal. But it’s not. It’s a medical condition and it’s called synesthesia or something. It’s pretty cool. Also, one day I’ll just write about my synesthesia. It’ll be really interesting.
(this is also why I give the features image of each post so much importance. they display the colours I feel)
Anyway, since I have this defect might as well really explore it, because colours are so beautiful. We’re blessed as a species to have the ability to sense and feel colours, really. I am of the strong opinion that as a whole, we don’t appreciate colours enough.
And hence, I’ve decided to make/do a thing. At the end of every month, I’ll upload a post with a colour palette representing that month for me. The highs and lows visually and chromatically.
I’m excited to do this.
And of course, because this is March, the first post will be about March.
And at the end of the year, it’ll be like a cool study in colour. You could analyse my year on the basis of the colours I chose. And if I keep this up regularly, with time, it’ll be amazing to look back and compare and contrast, and oh man am I excited or what?
So yeah that’s that.

It is really cool for you to take the positive side of a medical condition. Not everyone can do it. And the way you plan to implement it is really unique and different. I’m looking forward to analysing your year on the basis of the colours that you post.

FYI it’s not a medical condition or handicap or anything like that, it’s simply a different characteristic of the brain than most of the population. Read more about it here: https://www.saratogafalcon.org/content/synesthesia-unique-characteristic-not-medical-condition

My husband has synesthesia as well – he’d never heard of it and just assumed everyone saw colors or shapes in their mind when they listened to music or numbers and the like. I would correct the term of medical condition, however, as it’s simply a different way of perceiving with the senses. 🙂
